Know What's BEST for your child, Check The Label

Do you agree in the saying that Mothers know best? I definitely do! Not just because I'm a mom, but I've tested and proven it many times as a daughter, sister and friend ÜÜÜ

When you allow your intuition to develop, you become the world's foremost authority on your child. The more you practice listening to and caring for your child, the more intuitive you'll become.

But sometimes, even mothers need help when it comes to making the right decisions for their child, especially when it comes to their health. It is normal for moms to seek child care advice and parenting tips from experts as well as from family and friends with parental experience. However, there will be instances when they would end up more confused and less confident to make a decision after hearing varying recommendations or contradicting views.

Last July 28, 2016 Nido® 3+ launched #CheckTheLabel at Todd English Food Hall in SM Aura Premier, it is an educational campaign to encourage mothers to read and have a better understanding of food labels, so they can make smarter and healthier choices for their child. By checking the label, moms can verify nutritional claims, compare brands, and choose which one offers the best value for money.

Ditas Sagarbarria, Nutrition Adviser for Nestlé Infant Nutrition, taught guests hot to properly read food labels and provided everyone with a better understanding of the significance of how the ingredients in each product are listed

Here's how to read food labels
when checking food labels, take a look at the ingredients which are listed in the order of highest to lowest quantity. Watch out for health-sensitive ingredients such as sugar, salt, saturated fat, and sodium. When it comes to these, moderation is always key to better prevent the risk of obesity, diabetes, and other lifestyle-related diseases.

Next, review the nutritional facts. It is important to go through each one to determine whether or not a particular food product meets the daily nutritional requirements of children, especially during their crucial growing-up years. Knowing the nutritional content can determine if a child is eating a healthy, balanced diet.

Another good reason to check the label is to identify nutrients that are unique to a brand. Not all food product's like milk are created the same, so choose the one that provides for your child's needs, and more.

Patricia Turcuato, Lead Consumer Marketing Manager for NIDO Growing Up Milk (GUM), formally launched the #CheckTheLabel campaign and talked about the nutrients found in NIDO® 3+

Developed by the best of Nestlé Research, NIDO® 3+ is the only milk brand with Lactobacillus PROTECTUS®, millions and millions of live good bacteria that maintain the balance of good and bad bacteria in the gut, which in turn help strengthen the immune system. This unique probiotic can be found in every glass of NIDO® 3+ along with other essential nutrients such as: Prebio® 3, indigestible fibers that serve as food for good bacteria to grow and survive; DHA, ALA, LA and Taurine to support proper brain structure; and high levels of Vitamins A, D, Calcium and Zinc to support overall growth and development.

The newest endorser of NIDO® 3+ Sarah Lahbati with the host Delamar Arias, answered questions regarding the struggles she faced as a first-time mom and how checking the label of her options helped her make smarter and healthier choices for Zion. By precisely checking the label, Sarah Lahbati is assured that she made the right choice with NIDO® 3+.
