Maxicare Run 2018: Run to celebrate, run for a cause, and run to be fit!

The Itchyworms release Di Na Muli (OST of Sid & Aya (Not A Love Story)) official music video


Di Na Muli was written in 2016 by long-time friends Jazz Nicolas and Wally Acolola. They entered the song into the 5th Philippine Popular (PhilPop) Music Festival, performed by The Itchyworms, where it won the grand prize. Now, in 2018, the song has been given new life in the official soundtrack of the hit film Sid & Aya (Not A Love Story) (Viva Films, starring Dingdong Dantes and Anne Curtis, directed by Irene Villamor) 



Somewhere in between PhilPop and Sid & Aya, the Itchyworms set out to immortalize the song. The result was a visually stunning and emotional music video, directed by Paolo Abella. Help also came along in the form of the video's co-director Juno Oebanda, longtime friend of the band, and the generous indulgence of none other than the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The link to the CCP is Teddy Hilado (d. 2015), recognized as the father of lighting design in Philippine theater, who is also the uncle of Oebanda

The song's themes of love, loss, and words left unspoken, are embodied in the elegant performances of Rosky Balahadia Hilado (Teddy's widow, formerly of the Bayanihan Philippine Dance Company) and Carissa Adea (Ballet Philippines), and in the video's sweeping visuals, all captured within the hallowed halls of the CCP. The music video seeks to serve as loving tribute to Teddy, whose influence is still felt and recognized to this day.

The Itchyworms are now proud to share what is probably the first-ever music video shot inside the Cultural Center of the Philippines, and extend heartfelt thanks to those who helped bring the music video to fruition.

Filipino Pride Tanduay Ranked World's No. 1 Rum



For the first time, a Philippine-made liquor brand has been ranked as the top-selling rum by global spirits think tank Drinks International. Tanduay has taken over the number one spot from a list of international rum brands that has long been dominated by Bacardi.

Drinks International has released the "definitive ranking of the world's million-case rum brands", citing Tanduay as the new industry leader followed by Bacardi and McDowell's No. 1 Celebration.


"Our distinctly Filipino rum is now the world's number one... We have a great product to offer the world and the world recognized it," said Lucio "Bong" K. Tan, Jr., president and chief executive officer to Tanduay Distillers, Inc.

Tan Jr., who actively took the helm the as chief operating officer of the company in 2014, has been credited for the disruptive changes within the company that led to explorations of new markets abroad and new market approaches locally to bring the brand closer to younger product consumers.

"Only a visionary like my father, Dr. Lucio Tan, saw this when he acquired Tanduay from the Elizaldes in 1988. At a time considered very volatile for any business investment in the country, my father held on to the belief that someday the world will know Tanduay," added Tan Jr.

Online gamers real victory achieved in the kitchen

In this day and age getting children into the habit of pitching in around the house is a struggle. They would rather play online games with their gadgets than help in the household chores.

Recently, I've been under the weather so I asked my eldest son , who is already a teen and is hooked on online games to wash the dishes. At first he refused because he's busy playing LoL (League of Legends), but still he obeyed after like 10 years? Haha. No, after the battle naman. From then on, he would always offer to wash the dishes. Out of curiosity, I asked him why? To my surprise, he said that he loves the dishwashing liquid we are using. Hindi daw mahirap banlawan at madaling makatanggal ng stubborn grease. Kaya mas madali siya nakakabalik sa nilalaro nya 😂 Woah!!! True victory achieved in the kitchen. 😉  Actually, I'm a fan too of Bubbleman Dishwashing Liquid.

Darren Espanto, who just recently concluded his successful Unstoppable concert a few days ago, flew to Cebu to be with fans at the Vivo V9 Mall Tour last June 1. Darren, who just turned seventeen, was even surprised by the Darrenatics—his own fan base—onstage with a cake to celebrate his birthday and fourth year in showbusiness.

Vivo is all set to unlock the future with a single touch


Last Tuesday  night, young global smartphone brand Vivo teased tech enthusiasts nationwide when it posted a cryptic photo on its social media pages. 

The photo showed a colorful thumbprint with a hashtag #UnlockingSoon“Unlock the future with a single touch,” the posts said, without giving any more details. 


Vivo’s current flagship smartphone in the Philippines is the V9, which was released in March. It boasts of a 24-megapixel AI selfie camera, a 16MP+5MP dual rear camera, and a 6.3-inch FullView™ Display with a 90% screen-to-body ratio. 

Ever since its launch in the Philippines in 2016, Vivo has been breaking barriers by introducing state-of-the-art smartphone to the selfie-loving Filipino consumers. It was Vivo that introduced a 20-megapixel dual front camera in V5 Plus and a 24MP front camera in V7 and V7+.
